Getting there : If you wish to start at Knowl Hill then turn off thea A4 half way between Twyford and Maidenhead, If you are going to start at the Maidenhead end then travel towards Woodland Park from junction on the A404.
Parking : You can park in various places along the route. Whether you nark in the streets around Woodland park or in Knowl Hill village vou ard looking for a small blue sign that shows a bike and says “route 4” Alternatively park in the middle of the route for a shorter ride at Littlewick Green village (off the A4)-ride down all the way through the village going down a small lane until you meet the route (again look for route 4 signs), Sustrans are a government funded organization that is building a national network of cycle routes. The 4 mile section described here is part of its route 4 which runs between Maidenhead and Reading, and is particularly good for children as it is flat, traffic free and a good surface. It is very easy to follow the route as it is simply a case of following the regular signs. If you are riding from one end to the other, then Littlewick Green is half way where you can enjoy a drink at the Cricketers pub overlooking the picturesque village green. To go into the village, deviate down a path when the route does an sharp turn. You will reach the village within a couple of hundred yards and the pub is to the left of the green.
