This route takes you up into a rare part of the Chilterns that has very few significant hills. Once you have climbed up from Bourne End onto Wooburn Moor you have entered a heavily wooded and primarily flat part of the region that retains its elevation for a large swathe of countryside. In fact for the bulk of the ride of at least 15 miles, you will enjoy easy riding and some terrific woodland, passing hundreds of acres of unspoilt beech and oak. You pass through some lovely villages along the way, notably Cookham, Fulmer and Taplow, and opportunities for a beer along the way in all three.
