This rather beautiful route spans Bucks, Berks and Oxon and is one of the most interesting rides you can experience. Highlights include the numerous views and three challenging climbs at Winter Hill, Fawley Hill and Colstrope Hill. There are plenty of pub stops including the Flowerpot at Aston at the half way point.

1.Marlow (101ft) to Winter Hill (289ft) 1.71 miles

From Marlow High St go over the bridge turning immediately left at the Complete Angler. Follow under the by pass bridge and enjoy the sharp climb to the top.


2.Winter Hill (289ft) to Thicket Roundabout (164ft) 3.91 miles

At the top of Winter Hill turn right and follow towards Pinkneys Green. .At the junction go straight on passing the Lemon Tree pub on your right. At the A308 go left for 150 yards then right on to the Pinkney Green road. Follow past the Stag and Hounds pub on your right .At the road junction turn left.


3.Thicket Roundabout (164ft) to Knowl Hill(238ft) 4.86miles

At the roundabout go straight over toward White Waltham and follow as it goes under The A404 and railway line. At White Waltham turn right toward Knowl Hill. This is a very flat and quiet road .When you reach the A4 turn left then immediately right towards Warren Row.


4.Knowl Hill (238ft) to Aston Village (129ft) 4.8 miles

Follow this pleasant road through Warren Row and Cockpole Green enjoying views of the river towards Marlow as you go. When you reach the main road (A4130) go left then turn right towards Aston and the Flowerpot pub.


5. Aston village (129ft) to Lower Assendon (161ft) 4.25 miles

At the Flowerpot turn left and follow for a couple of miles to the Little Angel .Turn right over Henley bridge ,up the High St then right along Bell St(toward Marlow).At the mini roundabouts go straight over onto the Fairmile towards Nettlebed/Wallingford. Follow for a mile turning right toward Stoner.


6. Lower Assendon (161ft) to Fawley (519ft) 1.57 miles

At Lower Assendon turn immediately right toward Fawley .This is a mile or so of serious ascent, the initial part being extremely steep. Have fun.


7. Fawley (519ft) to Parmoor (555ft) 4.46 miles

At Fawley village continue on the same lane as it meanders up and down .Enjoy the views as you go .At the junction turn right through the woods passing Luxters winery and brewery where some sampling can be done. There is a steep descent now affording one of he best views you will experience anywhere in the Chilterns. At the road junction go left then right up Colstrope Hill. Again this is a challenging climb. At the top by the telephone box turn left.


8. Parmoor (555ft) to Marlow (101ft) 4.45 miles

At St Katherines Convent turn right towards Marlow. Continue on over a mini croosroads until you reach a junction. Turn left with Chisbridge farm on your right. At the junction turn right and follow gradually downward to Marlow passing the Royal Oak.
