Beauty Rating:  3/5   |   Length:  11 miles   |   Difficulty Rating:  2/5

This is a pleasant ride which you can do from the centre of Henley.  The ride avoids major roads and is reasonable easy with good pub stops.

  1. Leave Henley on the A4155 towards Reading.  Turn right at the Three Horseshoes Pub towards Harpsden.  At top of the hill continue on road as it goes down and bears round to the right.  Once past Harpsden Church take next left up Woodlands Road.  Continue on the road as it climbs through woods then flattens out.  As you exit the woods take left hand bridle path near the post-box signposted Little Beeches.
  2. At road junction go straight on down Bolney Lane.  Continue on as it goes over railway bridge.  At junction take right hand lane marked Thames Path.  Stay on the road as it bears right and crosses railway.  At Baskerville Arms take right onto Mill Road.
  3. Follow for approximately 1/2 miles.  At junction turn right up Mill Lane.  At next junction go straight across on Memorial Avenue.
  4. At junction by Shiplake School turn right onto Shiplake Row.  After 300 yards the White Hart Pub is on the left.  Continue on the road as it gradually ascents then 200 yards after the post office take right hand lane marked Common Lane.
  5. At junction cycle straight over into Bottle and Glass Public House car park and take bride path to left of pub (marked Farm entrance).  N.B. This bridle path is very muddy in wet condition.  At footpath take left hand bridle path into wood.  Continue on bridle path as it goes down then up the other side running alongside the of wood.  Eventually this will drop down to the road, take left turn immediately right.
  6. Keep on road as it bears round to left and becomes a bridle path (the Old Barn is on your left).  Continue for 2/3 miles.  Once past White Cottage stay on tarmac as it bears round to right.  At junction turn right, follow for approximately 1 mile.
  7. As road bears round to left and becomes Greys Road go straight onto bridle path.  After 100 yards take middle path to Harpsden Heights.  Go left at the road to return to central Henley.
